SHOCKING footage allegedly shows an Iranian patrol boat approaching the Japanese-owned oil tanker Kokura Courageous after it was attacked in the Gulf of Oman.
The US has blamed Iran for Thursday’s attack on a Japanese-owned oil tanker that drove up oil prices, but Tehran has denied the accusation. The US military has since released footage allegedly showing Iran’s Revolutionary Guard removing an unexploded mine from the side of an oil tanker following the attack in the Gulf of Oman. The black-and-white video, recorded by a US aircraft, reportedly shows an Iranian patrol boat approaching the oil tanker. The Guard apparently remove an unexploded limpet mine from one of the tankers targeted on Thursday.
A limpet mine attaches to its target by magnets, designed to attach to a ship’s hull and explode after a certain time.
The video was released by US Central Command spokesman Bill Urban, claiming the Iranian Guard Corp Gashti Class patrol boat was “observed and recorded removing (an) unexploded limpet mine from the Kokuka Courageous.”
Iran “categorically” rejected US claims about the attacked tankers.
